THE CURLY HAIR REVOLUTION…

Founded in 2020 by Floria Amon, Texture offers a wide range of hairdressing services for all hair types but focusing mainly on natural hair styles such as waves, curls, kinks and coils.

For years curly textured hair had  been seen as a curse. Unkept, messy and unprofessional, salons would shy away from doing curly hair because of the stigma that it was unmanageable and difficult to 'tame' so most of us would do anything we could to hide our curls even if that meant damaging them with heat or changing them with chemical. Something had to be done and so Texture was born with a mission to love and nurture your curls, teach you how to look after and treat your curls but most importantly a place where you can come and be your whole natural self, no judgement, embrace every single part of who you are and what you look like and feel happy and free without having to spend hours on trying to look another way because society tells us otherwise.

Texture is that space where you can be your whole natural self because as we all know going to the hairdressers is so much more than just hair. Over the last year we have helped soo many people embrace and love their natural hair from all over London the UK and beyond that we decided it was time to create a base and the first Texture salon was born and where else to add some texture but the vibrant area of Brixton!

OUR ETHOS

At Texture we believe in creating a safe space for all, although we specialise in curly textured hair our doors are opened to everyone no matter of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation and of course hair texture!

It is so important for us that every client feels completely comfortable and relaxed in our texture salon creating an inclusive environment that clients would feel happy to visit again and again. From our different topics of conversation, where our opinions may be different but we respect each others voices to our hijab days where we say goodbye to all the men and bring the blinds down so our Muslim hijab clients can also enjoy the texture experience as we believe that every client deserves to feel special and unique, so as soon as you step through our doors to when you leave our job is to make you feel as amazing as you truly are.

Ohh and lets not forget our wide selection of feel good music bringing you good vibes throughout your texture experience 

OUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE

Our vision for the future is to have various Texture salons around the UK, that specialise in curly / textured hair. The flagship salon being the Brixton training salon where people from all over would come to learn more about curly textured hair and by doing so building the confidence of many curly haired people and changing the hairdressing industry for the better.
